On February 26th Freddie was admitted into a  hospital in Beaumont, Texas due to weakness & fatigue. He had critical blood work requiring ongoing multiple blood products.  After a bone marrow biopsy we learned he had Leukemia.  The Hematologist put in a transfer order to Houston quickly. He was transferred to MD Anderson & is still currently there. After another bone marrow biopsy, we learned that he hasAcute Erythroid Leukemia (AEL) with a TP53 gene mutation.  Needless to say life has been flipped upside down for our entire family.  The research team is deeply involved on his severe case & he completed his first cycle of 3 chemo drugs.  He has had to stay in the hospital bc he is getting multiple blood products daily.  His case is very high risk, so Freddie & Brenda have to stay in Houston & can't go back home to Beaumont.  This has been rough to navigate because she still works & being away from home is difficult. Last week we received the news that the first cycle didnot work in killing the cancer cells, like we’d hoped. Freddie has decided to be on a clinical trial suggested by his Dr and the Research team.  He started the trial on Monday of this week.

As we all know, dealing with this kind of news is tough emotionally, physically, and financially.  My cousin Lindsay and I decided to do different fundraisers to help them out with the financial aspect.  This is week 9 of navigating this horrific battle.  To put it into perspective, they pay $20 a day, just for parking.  TWENTY DOLLARS.  As you can imagine, just in parking fees they’ve spent over $1000.  Isn’t that just ridiculous?!

The family would like to thank everyone for the messages, texts, prayers, and offers to help. Please keep the prayers going!

Many have asked how they can help.  It definitely takes a village in times like this!

By ordering a shirt, 100% of the profits go to Freddie & Brenda Campbell.

Lindsay Solorzano is the organizer of this fundraiser.
